In 2033, The Golden -- an alien force composed of six gargantuan birdlike beings -- descended from the heavens and slaughtered millions, leaving only pockets of survivors. In the aftermath, the survivors were coralled into sprawling refugee camps. Fifty years later, the camps have become thriving city-states surrounded by sprawling wilderness. As The Golden have begun to leave, humans have set out to reclaim their world they lost.
